The level of play in the league is steadily increasing as the more experienced players get to know their teammates better and the less experienced players start to understand the intricacies of the game better. On the lacrosse field, Grey only had 5 guys and 4 women but most of their players are experienced. Green had its hands full but fought valiantly lead by Captain Kromer who imo has taken his game to a whole other level that only a few other RIPUL players can match. I only watched part of the game and it was relatively close throughout. On the green side, I saw some nice plays by Charles Marlio, Cass Sapir, Jaime Palter, Megan Owen, and Chris "I'm 6"3, young and skinny with sketchy throws but I like to handle" O'Connell. However, the experience of Grey was too much for Green to handle. The matchup of Tim McBride and Rob Hancock lead to alot of contact between the 2 but Tim, despite a cast on his left arm, is really starting to come into his own as a deep factor to be reckoned with. Ian Fischer sucked it up and played most of the game with a bad heel. The grey women are all speedy lead by Liz Willets, Megan Nolan, Valerie Place, Sonya Johnson, and Ann McGinn. Grey took a hard-fought 17-14 victory and stands atop the league as the only undefeated team at 3-0. Over on the tennis court field, Navy wearing white took on Black. Another excellent close throughout game. The mysterious George Lawrence finally appeared in Rhode Island and was definitely a factor for Navy. The most surprisingly strong player on Navy last night was Mr. bandana Stuart McGregor who was matched up most of the evening against Captain Safdie and made plays both offensively and defensively. His good spirit and hard-running was impressive indeed. For the ladies, White was lead by Addie Egan who must be 1 of the fastest women in the league, with good skills to boot, and Ms Jessica Collins who although still learning the game is athletic enough to make plays. The black side also played well lead by Captain Safdie, Jonny "Luv" Larossa, Evan Pearce, and newcomer Brian Sauro. Black's women are lead by Fuyuki Hirashima, Cal Broccoli, Lillian Shuey, Sara pearce, and jennifer Bartholomew. Black took a halftime lead and I believe stretched their lead to 12-10. When I returned to their game, it was tied at 14. Navy pulled ahead to 16-14 but Black wasnt about to just roll over. A couple of sweet defensive plays later and the score was tied 16-16, next point wins. White lead by the steady play of Scotty "I'm so white" Mathieu, Scott "I never stop running hard" Martin, and Flip "I love my cigarettes, booze, women, and ultimate in no particular order" Williams was able to work the disc down the field steadily until they scored.
