Burgandy 17 White 7 (Captain Chia of White) Burgandy was fired up, this was for the season championship, the fan was going wild. White was trying to get some momentum going for the playoffs, but instead appeared to be saving thier best games for Saturday..game started out close, but an injury early on to Andy Fish of White proved costly, since he is one of our big men on the long hucks, Burgandy took advantage with sweet movement upfield and some great midfield and longer hucks..Burgandy played solid throughout, some notable great grabs by Leigh of White help motivate White for saturday... Great Spelling B. Cheers by White and the final 15 backflips by Leah of White brought tears to my eyes as I knew another year of Summer Ultimate was coming to an end...Purple cameback with a Billy "Where are you now" Idol cheer! Screaming Green(16) vs. Denim (11) by Cory Byrum of Green: Some over the course of the summer have accused me of being long winded? How right they are. With this being my last and final game report I don't intend to stop now. I would like to take a second and thank both of my devoted readers and apologize to everyone who had to scroll through these obese narratives. On to the game. Every Screaming Green came with something to prove. To who ? Ourselves and nobody else. We talked all season about how we thought we could hang with any team out there. Most of the time it was just talk. With it being our last regular season game it was time. Time to culminate or crumble we just didn't know which. Everyone knew it was going to be a tough one. The first half resembled the last time we played Denim. Hot & Steamy play. We traded a lot of points. 1-1 then 2's then 3's up till 7's. Vet ripped off his shirt and turned in to Super-Vet with the addition of some new magic cleats. Super-Vet was an offensive machine destroying any chance the denim zone had. He had so much energy he was jumping ( maybe it was dancing I'm not sure) at random just to keep everyone guessing. Dave was pivotal in moving the disc around the zone as well. Kevin Nagle decide to start a mosh-pit around him as the game progressed and always seemed to be in the middle of any physical contact. Even Matty wanted to mosh with Kevin. I am sure you can imagine the result. The Screaming Greens worked hard to keep the Nat Factor down to a minimum since he personally destroyed us last time. He generated a lot of talk on the Green line. Let's see what else happened. Oh yeah. I threw up this nasty blade. It soared about 50 feet straight up and traveled only 20 feet. June was there to make the D in the end zone but the disc was so sharp it cut off her fingers and she was rushed to the hospital. Our Diehard women Mo had hands of steel and she came up with the score. I once again was forced to bench myself for such a pathetic display of handling. Denim took half at 9-7 due to some sweet layout D's by Jeff combined with the nice hucks of Max and the speed of Alan. A nasty combo. At the half we had to strategize. It was decided that we would always try to give high fives to Max to keep his hands wet and slippery since his hucks were so lethal. It worked for a little while until he caught on. Half was only about a minute long so we didn't have time to speak of much else. We just wanted to give our women a quick break. We only had two women. Diehard and we got to pick up a ringer Katie who is married to a Denim player. Katie played great. Thanks for smiling with us. After the half Denim pulled to the Greens. The Screaming Greens scored 2 quick points to put us right back into the thick of things. With the sun rapidly failing us we knew the game most likely going to be capped. So we tried to pull away quickly. Easier said then done. We kept trading points. 10's then 11's. DeePak booked it down the field to receive a huck from Super-Vet. The next point was hellish. Both teams turned the disc multiple times. Colin decided to spike the disc. Can you believe it ? Both teams were suffering from the lack of subs and intense play. Once again our Diehard Mo came up with 2 scores to help us pull away. She is definitely my choice for MVP yesterday. The came was capped 16-11 because it was now nighttime. Two weak cheers were delivered and then it was off to Oliver's. Thanks for good game Denim. What do you say Screaming Greens ?. Team dinner ? We'll discuss. Oh one more thing I just got word the hospital reattached June's fingers and she will be ready to play come Saturday. I would like to thank RIPUL for the chance to write these reports and thank everyone who made this league what it is. I would also like to thank Vag for getting everyone to Oliver's. It's been a blast. We will play through rain unless it is so heavy that the fields are getting damaged or we see lightning nearby. If so, we will simply take a break and wait it out.
