All the teams were well-represented, except Purple. Keep up the good work people and I will work on getting us on some specials. Dave Rosenberg, the self-proclaimed Party Chairman, reports: "Orange Made another impressive showing, but it was Burgandy who had numbers, and stayed the latest!!! Purple sucks...Harper showed up at like 11:30, realized none of his buddies were there and left at 11:31." 4) RESULTS - PURPLE 17 ORANGE 14 Purple jumped out to a 9-3 lead at half and withstood a spirited rally by Orange. BURGUNDY 17 DENIM 12 Burgundy took half 9-6 but Denim turned up the D and quickly tied it at 9's. The teams traded points but Denim was able to make it 11-11 and pulled downwind (this was definitely upwind-downwind game). Burgundy showed good poise and was able to get the upwind score and never looked back. BLACK 17 Jade ???? No game report. captains, please report score to each other and loring at lsh@cs.brown.edu AND IN THE GAME OF THE NIGHT: WHITE 17 GREEN 15 (We have 2 game reports for your enjoyment) Cory Byrum of Screaming Green: The Screaming Greens expanded their roster this Wednesday with the additions of David Egan and the other two women on the team MoFitz and Leah. All three showed up smiling and fit nicely in the Screaming Green groove. White jumped to an early 4 point lead leaving the Screaming Greens nipping at their heels on every point. Finally, the Screaming Greens were able to rally under the first inspirational trumpet playing of Colin Smith traveling minstrel. These magical notes finally kicked the Screaming Green offense into gear, inspiring Screaming Greens to finish the half only trailing 9-5. Screaming Green D was also brought up a notch when Hope Chik made several key layouts to stop some hellish back and forth points. David Egan 's defense was also spectacular, as he jumped out of his shoe in an attempt to get the layout D, which left the other players on his team wondering if this was some kind of veteran move. It brought a single tear to Captain Vet's eye. After an inspirational half-time speech by the Screaming Green Captains Scott Wiant and Vette, the Greens came Roaring back into the game and tied it up at 13-13. This was done with the combined defensive effort of the entire Screaming Green team, which continued to smile throughout. The last few points are kind of hazy because they took about a half hour a piece. The increasingly inspiring trumpet playing was like a catcall to victory yet that night the Screaming Greens were turned down. The last point scored was by White and was a joint layout between Scott Martin and Cory Byrum. After the tangled mess was sorted out Scott Martin had the disc and all Cory had was a nice bid. White wins 17-15. To make matters worse, White won the cheer with their fancy dance moves and choreography, despite the Screaming Greens rhyming efforts. (Captain Chia of White reports) I woke up this morning from my nightmare screaming into my pillow "STOP THE TRUMPET, FOR GODS SAKE, STOP THE TRUMPET!!!!" Like out of a scene from Apocalypse Now, the Green team, led by their musically inclined trumpet player (Colin "Miles Davis" Smith), battled the White team neck to neck..and it was a battle..White started out strong and took half at 9-5, with great play from the women contigent and a great layout from Aaron Seider to save a laser huck (guess who threw a laser huck, luckily he doesnt get email) from being crushed into the ground..It looked like the White team would pull away in the second half as they were able to keep their lead, as both teams traded points...At 15-12, White either got lazy or Green stepped it up big time but, Green came back to tie it at 15-15 with notable great play by the URI contingent of Scotty Wiant and Cory Byrum. Hell points ensued and White was able to get a number of breaks and score the final two points for the hard fought victory...Great Cheers by both teams and a Gymnastic Exhibition by Leah "Nadia Komanich" Schaeffer, Chia was thinking of duplicating these feats but quickly came to his senses remembering that he had twice failed gym in Grammer School.
