The game started with some of the most horrible disc ever seen at RIPUL, the 1st couple of points were literally 10 minutes each with each teah having trouble even completing a pass. The swilliness soon passed and Sky was able to roll to an easy victory. Props to White for not complaining about their lack of subs. Gold 17 Maroon 12 Andre of Gold Maroon was without a couple of key players, but played the most patient offense we've seen all season to keep things very tight in the first half. Both teams exchanged points up to 5 all, then Gold was up 9-7 at half. Maroon quickly made up the difference to open the second half to tie it at 9-9. Gold responded by rattling off 4 straight, and eventually went on to win 17-12. Though there weren't tons of highlights in this game, both teams put up big efforts and played hard on both ends. WEDNESDAY GAMES Denim 15 Sky 11 In a hard-fought game, Denim's superior numbers were able to prevail over a game Sky squad. The highlight of the game was the intense sunset. Denim is now on a 3 game win streak. Craisin 17, Orange 14 Craisin led all almost game by 3 and won by 3. Orange would not go away easily and kept coming back. Good spirit was shown by both teams. Another good cheer by Craisin, a rousing rendition of "Lean on Me" with the new verse of "Stack on Me". Highlight of the game for Craisin was Dr. Mike Smith layout grab of a huck into the end zone in the second half. Black 17, Gold 15 Well, it was a cool, damp night as black and gold met for their second match-up this season. Both teams had small squads show up, each missing some key players, but ready to play hard nonetheless. Black came out hard with three quick goals which set their pace for the game. Gold fought back and tied it up at sixes with a hot pull down by the ever talented Kira, but black wouldn't let up, taking half 9-8. Highlights of the first half included hot lay outs by Fly and Max, and some amazing grabs by Kira and Jonathan Greer. The second half was close but black maintained control. Gold was able to capitalize on the many turnovers their zone created, but out of no where, black defense was able to hold Gold at bay. Anne Booker and Kit Wallach both had a couple of pivotal D's in the second half, allowing Josh Peters and Jonathan Greer to work their magic in the end zone. Props to Josh and Lucky for some excellent handling and to Fly for his monster hammers. June came out for the second half and made the black women run their asses off. Blake also had a great game for black, always making the right cut at the right time. The game was close and everyone ran really hard. Beyond that, the spirit of both team was amazing and a good time was had by all.
