The game was as long as it was sloppy. Both teams played = hard, tight defense, and as a result, both offenses failed to click on = all cylinders. White started the game by eating bananas on the line, = which clearly struck fear deep into the hearts of the banana team as = White raced to a 5-1 advantage. Slowly, but surely, however, the Banana = team regained its composure and fired back to tie the game at 6, before = slumping to fall behind 9-6 at half. The White team's intimidation = tactics for the second half involved a cheer about yellow snow, but it = only served to fire up the Banana squad. The 3-point halftime deficit = was quickly erased and the game was tied at 11. From that point, no = team built a lead larger than 1. Back and forth play went, with great = defensive plays turning points into marathons, and slowly chasing away = that powerful 65 degree summer sun. At 15-15, White marched down the = field and scored to take the slim 1 point lead, but Banana responded = with another fantastic endzone catch, off a deflection no less, by Greg = Guffanti to tie the score yet again. The final point of the game was = played in near darkness. Several turnovers kept the game alive for both = teams, before the White team finally punched in the winning goal on yet = another grab by Karen "The Scoring Machine" Bernhardt.
