First of all, a big hats off to everybody who sucked it up and played last
night on a legal holiday and the most oppressively hot weather for any RIPUL
game ever. It was, in a word, brutal.

Thankfully, I don't think anybody got sick except yours truly who went down
hard. All I have to say is that my roast beef sandwich and potato salad
lunch tasted a whole lot better going down than coming back up. Special
thanks to Libby Drew.

In action last night, White took on Black without Captain Safdie. Black
jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead only to see White storm back to grab a 5-4
lead. White took a 7-6 lead when I went down forcing us to play 4/3 savage 7
the rest of the night. Black took an 8-7 halftime lead (we agreed to play to
15 before the game bec. we started way late) but White took a 9-8 lead.
Black, which had 4 subs, simply wore down a physically exhausted White team.
Black grabbed a 14-10 lead but White, displayed alot of pride, and refused to
simply roll over. White closed to 14-12 before Black closed them out to win
15-12 to enter the RIPUL victory column.

I really don't know much about the other games as i didn't go to Oliver's
after the game but my sources tell me that Key Lime, without Captain Parham,
but boosted by the reurn of Bob Yakota, took a relatively easy 17-10 victory
over an undermanned navy team.

Green, also without Captain Kromer, was able to beat Royal but am not sure of
the exact score. I think it was 17-12.

Grey maintained its unbeaten record by beating Purple but again I'm not sure
what the final score was.

Will the captains of Purple, Grey, Green and Royal confirm the final score
with myself and Loring at lsh@cs.brown.edu.

Standings:

1) Grey 4-0
2) Key Lime 3-1
3) White 2-2
    Navy 2-2
    Green 2-2
    Royal 2-2
7) Black 1-3
8) Purple 0-4
