Grey 17 White 13 - Grey needed to win to gain the regular season title and
the #1 seed for Saturday. The game was close throughout with Grey surging to
a 2 or 3 point lead and White rebounding with a streak of their own. Grey
employed their zone defense throughout the game (except 1 point in which
White scored in like 5 seconds) and although they never really made any sick
layout D's, it was effective because White dropped an inordinate number of
easy catches. Towards the end of the game, White kept turning it over near
their own goal line, and Grey made them pay for it. Without Captain
Dussault, Grey doesn't really have any susperstars but they are the most
balanced team in the league as everybody can throw and catch well. Congrats
to Grey for winning the regular season title with a 7-2 record.

Royal 12 Purple 12 - No, this score is not a misprint. In what was a close,
highly-spirited game throughout, this game ended on a sour note after Jessica
Collins of Navy hurt her knee. By the time Dr. Brown and Dr. Lee of Grey
came over to help out, it was dark and both teams were kinda bummed. So, we
have our 1st RIPUL tie. Lets all hope Jessica has a speedy recovery.

So here are the final regular season standings:

1) Grey 7-2
2) Black 6-3 (defeated Key Lime)
3) Key Lime 6-3
4) Green 4-5 (defeated White)
5) White 4-5
6) Navy 3-5-1
7) Royal 3-6
8) Purple 2-6-1

So, the pools for Saturday are as follows:

Pool A Pool B
Grey Black
Green Key Lime
White Navy
Purple Royal

The weather for Saturday is supposed to be another day of 90 degrees and
HUMID with a chance of thunderstorms. For those who have never played in a
tournament before, please be prepared to play all day. Bring a hat, a lawn
chair, sunscreen, some power bars, an umbrella, anything to keep you cool and
comfortable. There is some shade on the sidelines of the fields but believe
me it will be HOT, HOT, HOT and many of us are not used to playing more than
1 game. You need to keep drinking water and staying cool. There are outdoor
and indoor showers to cool off so a change of shirts at least might be a good
idea. Navy, Royal, and Black teams should bring white shirts to wear on the
field because the colors are so close and because wearing a dark color in the
heat is not a good idea.

As for the hat league, what we will do is have a signup sheet on Saturday if
you want to play. We will meet on Monday at 6:00 at Moses Brown.

Get plenty of rest and eat a good meal on Friday night...c ya all on Saturday
at 9:30 A.M. Remember, it's a whole new season and with the parity in this
league, anybody can go home Saturday night with the Championship Trophy.
