People:

1) No games on Wednesday July 25. There will be pickup at Moses Brown.

2) Just a reminder that playoffs will be Saturday August 11 at Wheeler. We
will divide into 4 pools of 4 based on the regular season standings.
Everybody will play at least 3 games and the winners of the pools will play
in the Finals while everybody else enjoys dinner and heckles.

3) Also, keep Saturday August 25 open for Northeast Summer League
Championships to be held at Wheeler. The winner of the regular season and
the winner of the playoffs will both qualify. If they are 1 and the same
team, then the other team in the Finals qualifies.

4) Beach Thursday at 6:00; directions are at 2001 Rhode Island Summer League

5) Schedule for Monday July 30:

Purple v. White - Wheeler Soccer Field (across Walker closest to road)
Denim v. Jade - Wheeler Soccer Field (across Walker closest to woods)
Orange v. Green - Moses Brown Tennis Courts
Burgundy v. Black - Wheeler Soccer Field (single field on Walker)

6) Games last Night:

Denim 17 Mango 13

Mango jumped out to a quick lead but Denim then got some easy scores off
their zone D. Denim was up a couple in the 1st half but Mango came back and
tied it at 7 but Denim took half 9-7. The beginning of the 2nd half saw a
hell point that Mango scored to make it 9-8 but Denim then ran off 3 straight
to make it 12-8. Not to be outdone, Mango scored 4 in a row to tie it up at
12. Denim turned it up a notch and ran off 4 in a row themselves and won
17-13.

Purple 17 Burgundy 9

Purple pulled a mild upset of the #1 team with a surprisingly easy victory.
Dave Rosenberg, Burgundy's captain, writes that "Purple kicked our ass twice,
17-9 on the field, and they definitely won the party this week, suprisingly
due to some nights of no-shows, but they were out in numbers tonight. Big
party losers are Mango who refused to participate in the rosham drink a bowl
of Ceasar Dressing. Mike from Notre Dame lost, and Prinay lost a man on man
rosham to me to lick Ceasar Dressing off the table."

Green(17) Vs. Jade(5)
by Scott Wiant of Green

After a very high spirited game yesterday the unthinkable has happened, Cory
has been left speechless.

Black 17 White 13 (i think)
(by Captain Chia of White)

White does not like Mondays..Black scored early and often at the start of
the game..taking a 4-0 lead, White called timeout and came back and made the
score 4-3, but Black pulled away at half 9-4...White played with much more
vigor in the second half but the early lead of black cost them the game,
great play by Laura Perry and Aaron of the white team helped keep it close..
Being the nice guy that I am, I will not mention Andy slamming the Pull to
the ground for a turn (as Jeff Fliescheker (sp) philosophically pointed out
was a microcosm of this game for White). A notable note is that Black
played with no women subs the whole game which was quite impressive...In a
fit of rage Chia bought a dozen eggs on the way home and attacked random
buildings at the URI campus (a number of players from Black go to URI) and
Mel,
thanks to you and that bloody horn Annie (chia's dog) is now in therapy...
The White cheer had a great concept but poor execution "Hit the road
Black...LALALALALLALA" Black's cheer was simplistic in its concept but the
effects were devestating. Hey we still won because of Leah's Hexatriple
backflip!

7) STANDINGS:

Burgundy 8-2 (in 1st by virtue of beating Denim twice)
Denim 8-2
Purple 6-4
Green 6-4
White 5-5
Black 4-6
Mango 2-8
Jade 1-9
