Screaming Green (17) vs Purple(11)
Report by Cory Byrum of Green:

Bleck? What a stuffy day to play some disc. At least there was plenty
of wind. It felt like playing in a hot tub. Which I recommend highly by
the way. Screaming Green and Purple were both hurting on subs. The Greens
were left with only one woman. Fortunately for us Mo is diehard. Purple was
nice enough to let us play 6-1. Both teams had about 3 subs apiece. No
rest for the hardcore.
Purple dominated the early portions of the game. They ran circles
around us. Pin point hucks from Harper to his nefarious deep men were
taking their toll. Purple came up with a quick 5 points before we were able
to put a point of our own on the board. After all of that punishment Colin
" I play my horn when I please" Smith finally played his first cadence and
helped the Screaming Greens march back up into the game. Spurred by the
music cuts became faster less clogged and got completed. Vet launched some
of his homing missiles down the field to Kevin Nagle and I. Andre and Dave
worked the disc well proving that they have taken to eating Chilly O's
cereal as well. Everyone played great D. Our fearless leader Scott came
with many D's over the course of the game and included one SWEET poach off
of Kali which he then hucked around her for the score. The game was all
tied up at 6.
After we tied it up play by both teams was brought up yet another
notch. This resulted in some hell points. Back and forth. Up and back.
Great D's and nice bids were had both teams. Greens eeked out at half 9-7
I believe. Might be the other way around I'm not sure. In either case it
was a really tight game.
After the half the Greens picked up some more momentum. We traded
points with purple for a while. Dave Egan was running so hard he ran out of
his shoe again. He also played some great defense coming up with a key hand
block and a sweet layout D. TIMBER !!! The redwood that is Dave crashes
on the disc and an awesome D was made. Mo showed no signs of being tired
as she raced through the end zone to score. Purple also played some great D
and put the crunch on the Screaming Greens. On one particular play Vet was
trapped near our end zone on the sideline. Cuts were covered as well as the
dump which wasn't there anyway. The stall count raced upwards and Vet was
forced to just heave it down the field rather then give them the stall. The
throw went into the middle of the field where DeePak ripped it down. There
was a crackle of thunder as he violently tore it down from the sky and it
was so authoritative the cops showed up. Believe me it was nothing short of
stellar.
Speaking of stellar the last play of the game was hot. I was able to
swat away a swing that was being bobbled and bust for the end zone. Alan
Bonner put up a throw and I had to lay it out big time. From the remarks on
the sideline it must have looked pretty good. Looks aside it felt great to
come up with it. Screaming Greens win the Stuffy Day 17-11. Thanks Purple
for a great game it was a blast. Cheers were delivered and beer was
consumed. All in all it was a great day.
