BLACK - baseball diamond 4) Results from Wednesday July 17 Black 16 White 14 White was short-handed with Jeff, Andre, June, Adele not suited up. Winless Black had no mercy though as they were hungry to get off the snide. 1st half saw some good flow from White as they were able to take half 9-7. Black stopped hucking so much on their 1st throw and started playing the chilly, controlled O (dump/swing and give and gos) that works well for them. Black got all fired up and stormed to a 13-10 lead. Black played mainly Z and were able to get some huge layout blocks from Ryan and Flip. White called timeout and regrouped forcing a 14-14 tie. Good work from the Brians, Aaron, and Kira. Black got the disc and quickly scored on a huck to Theo. Flip had a huge layout D but foul was called. No matter, Black got the disc back and calmly worked it down the field for their 1st W of the season. Forest 17 Orange 7 (Kevin of Forest) In a highly anticipated rematch, Forest took on the O-Face on a field generosly described as hard and unforgiving. Both teams came out firing on all cylinders, with several lead changes to start the game. The evening belonged to Forest however, thanks to some some intense Zone D, iron-woman play by Mo Fitzgerald and Kristie Woo, and key catches from up and coming rookie Thomas Brendler. However, Orange had the last laugh with an outstanding end-of-game cheer led by smilin' Ray Richardson, so good in fact that one had wonder if they had planned it beforehand. Hmmm.....
