Rhode Island Ultimate Player's Association, Inc. is pleased to announce
signups for, can you believe it, our 10th season of RIPUL coed ultimate frisbee.
League games will be held every Monday and every Wednesday, except the week
of July 11 when we play Tuesday and Thursday. The 1st official game is
Monday June 6th. There will be 19 regular season games and Summer
League Playoffs will be held Saturday August 13th.
All games will be held at The Wheeler School fields in Seekonk, Mass. (a
short 10-minute drive from the East Side). (For those with transportation
issues, let me know and we will do our best to accommodate). Directions
are on the web page: www.ripul.org.
To sign up, go right now to www.ripul.org and print out the application and
waiver forms.
The cost of the league will be $60.00. Make the check payable to RIUPA, INC. Signups (Application, Waiver, and Check) should be sent to me: Matthew Brier, 2 Dexter Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860. Early sign up not only guarantees you a spot this summer (we have
unfortunately had to turn away men in the past), you will also be entitled
to play pickup at no cost at Wheeler on the following dates: Wednesday
April 20, Wednesday April 27, Wednesday May 4, Wednesday May 11, Monday May 16,
Wednesday May 18, Monday May 23, Wednesday May 25, Monday May 30 and June
1. Show up around 5:30.
We also want to encourage everybody to invite friends and co-workers to
join us. To encourage new people, all of the above pickup dates are open
to beginners at no charge.
In addition, we are trying to grow women's ultimate. Towards that
end, Tanja Wiant and friends will be conducting a women's clinic on Friday April
8th at 7:00 P.M. at the Wheeler Fieldhouse in Seekonk. All are
welcome. The flyer has been posted on the web site or contact tanjawiant@yahoo.com.
RIPUL is about more than just playing competitive disc. It is about
meeting and hanging out with new friends. It is about enjoying a nice,
cold drink after the game. "Spirit of the Game" is a critical part of
RIPUL. So, remember, compete hard but fair on the field and let's have
some FUN!!! |
