Aug 8 Hot Damn vs Blue

On this hot, humid, hazy evening in August, tension and angst where high as team Hot Damn and team Blue met for a battle royal for third place in the standings and, more importantly, a pass out of the 'Daisy Pool' for the big tournament.  No one wants to go swimming in the Daisy Pool, cuz that pool is filled with un-mentionable, un-thinkable things. SO the game.  Blue came out quickly and was up 4-1.  Hot Damn kept their composure and tied it at 7 -7.  Did I mention that Hot Damn was playing savage for men and only one woman sub?  At this point, Hot Damn was clearly ready for half as they quickly turn it over twice and team Blue takes half at 9-7 on an amazing layout by My Cousin Vinnie.  Once again Hot Damn comes back and ties it at 9.  Hot Damn tries to pull away but Laura Neville says "not in my house!" and swats away a goal line throw that would have given Hot Damn a small lead.  Team Blue will not be denied as they bring it to 13 -13.  On universal point, with darkness falling, and in spite of Matty poaching the play from the opposite sideline, Freddy-O unloads a big huck that finds a streaking Hot Damn receiver in the end zone for the wining goal.  Final score: 14-13 Hot Damn. Great game for both teams.
