Rhode Island Ultimate Player's Association, Inc. is pleased to announce
signups for our 11th season of RIPUL coed ultimate frisbee.
League games will be held every Monday and every Wednesday. The 1st
official game is Memorial Day, Monday May 29th. There will
be over 20 regular season games and Summer League Playoffs will be
held Saturday August 12th.
All games will be held at The Wheeler School fields in Seekonk, Mass. (a
short 10-minute drive from the East Side). (For those with transportation
issues, let me know and we will do our best to accommodate). Directions

To sign up, go right now to www.ripul.org Fill out the application
form online. However, in order to officially register and be guaranteed a
spot, you must print out and sign the waiver form and send
it with a check made payable to "RIUPA" for $70.00 to me: Matthew
Brier, 2 Dexter Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860.
Applications are received on a 1st come/1st served basis. This is
particularly important for men, as I have had to turn away men the last
several years. The last day we will accept applications is Monday May
22nd.
We plan to expand from 10 to 12 teams. I am currently looking
for more captains. Each team will have 2 captains, preferrably one man and
one woman. It is not necessary that you be a top-notch player to
captain. It is more important to have good communication and team-building
skills. Captains will receive a $25 discount and only pay $45 for summer
league. If you are interested, please email me.
Because we want to encourage more women to participate, we are offering a
$10 discount to those women who are new to organized ultimate and those who
referred them. New women from Spring League are eleigible for the
discount. So, if experienced player finds 2 new women to sign up, each
woman gets a $10 discount and experienced vet takes a $20 discount.
Please note that signing up early not only guarantees you a spot this
summer, you will also be entitled to play pickup at no cost at Wheeler
(the baseball diamond) on the following dates: Tuesday May 2, 9, 16, and
23. Show up around 5:30 and bring a white and dark shirt. Those who
are part of Spring League can also play pickup, even if they, for some reason,
are not playing in Summer League.
I am also looking for somebody to design the t-shirts. You can
certainly be creative with the design but it should involve some combination of
playing disc with a Rhode Island theme to it. If we use your design, I am
offering a FREE summer league membership. Please contact me if you plan to
do a design. Designs must be submitted no later than Monday May
15th.
RIPUL is about more than just playing competitive disc. It is about
meeting and hanging out with new friends. It is about enjoying a nice,
cold drink after the game. "Spirit of the Game" is a critical part of
RIPUL. So, remember, compete hard but fair on the field and let's have
