Black vs Gold game report

Loring, finally getting around to a game report for Black vs. Gold. Please post.  Thanks.

Game on.

From the flip to the cheers at the end, this was a very competitive RIPUL game.  And why shouldn’t it be?  It was for second place after all.  Wait, SECOND place?  Big deal.  Its not the game for first place right?  Well seeing how dominant Orange has been all summer, it seems that 2nd place might be the only thing that’s left for the rest of RIPUL to fight for.  Yippee second!  Regardless, both captains and teams, wanted this game, admitting as much at the bar afterward.  Anyway this is how the game turned out:

Flip:  Gorange.  I don’t mean to crow about this (ok yes I do) but Gorange is 7-2 in flips won this year

Game: Gorange 16-15 in a very hard fought game that Black battled until the very end.  Black handlers and hucks to deep cuts by Nick Reed were giving team Gorange fits all game.  But Gorange had some hucks of their own and that might have been the difference: a couple of hucks that Gorange receivers were able to pull down over vertically challenged Black defenders (sorry couldn’t resist).

Spirit:  Slight edge to Black, mainly because of a travel call at the end of the game that resulted in a ‘bullsh*&’ call from, um, someone who should know better.  And then only to find out that it was probably a correct call from Keith Applebutter Apelbaum..

Cheer:  Black.  Gorange had a good cheer, but rhyming Gorange with the Merrel Lournge at the end was the diff.

Mike of Gorange.
