Kelly Green vs Brown

Friday's makeup game was an exciting and somewhat controversial game. Both teams were without several of their key players (Brown was missing its captains, only had 1 guy sub, and Kelly's women played savage).  Brown started the game playing great zone defense and took a quick 4-1 lead.  Unfortunately for Brown, all star player and all-around good guy Evan Boucher suffered an ankle injury and had to sit out the rest of the game, which proved to be a huge game changer.  Kelly got their act together and went on a 5-0 run to take the lead 6-4. Arthur Bledsoe ran down several deep throws, giving Kelly the spirit lift it needed. Brown responded quickly and tied the game at 6s.  Teams traded points (with some controversial 'pick' and 'travel' calls thrown in the mix) to make it even at 8s.  Kelly scored the last point of the longest half in RIPUL history (no lie: other teams had already finished their games at this point) and took half 9-8.  After half time, Kelly seemed to run away with the game, winning 13-9 after the cap came on.  Brown's suggestion to play a spirit game instead of thinking up cheers proved to be popular, as slapping each others asses seemed to be more fun than thinking up rhyming words.
