I trust everybody is excited for opening night on Memorial Day Monday May 30th.  This is the 16th season of RIPUL and I have no doubt this summer will be our best ever.  

It is critical that we are good tenants and follow the rules:
  
NO DOGS
NO ALCOHOL/DRUGS
NO USING THE WOODS AS A BATHROOM
PUT THE SOCCER GOALS BACK AT END OF GAMES
DO NOT LOITER AFTER DARK

A HUGE thank you belongs once again to Dr. Bill Brown for helping us secure the fields.  He is truly instrumental.   

Male and Female spots are all filled, we had to turn away over 20 guys who did not heed my repeated warnings but we will be adding player, as needed, when teams have players drop.  We assigned all 72 women to a team so we will be playing some 4/3 where appropriate.  This is, by far, the most interest we have had from the women so that is outstanding.

All games start at 6:00 PM so please be there on time.  Directions to the Cole St. fields   
There is 1 game each night also at North Street.  North St. fields 
No games this year at Pleasant Street where we had Wednesday pickup.  

There will be pickup tomorrow on Saturday at 4:00 PM at Cole Street.  All are welcome.  Those who did not get onto a team are also welcome but this will be our last pickup date.
 
Make sure you bring plenty of water, especially at North street since there is no water source, and bug spray is a good idea, as the skeeters can get pretty nasty near dark. We will be distributing team shirts before Monday's game.  

Congrats to Arthur Bledsoe of Vegas for winning the T Shirt submission contest.

I have RIPUL discs for sale.  They are not part of your league fee this year but I will sell them at cost, $5 each.  You will not find a better deal out there.  Let me know if you want to buy a disc. 

There are bathrooms at Cole street.  You can fill up water bottles in the bathroom sink.  The doors lock upon closure, so there will be a rock holding them open you need to put back after use.  If the door is locked, I have a key so come find me, I am on Team Vegas.

If you owe me money and a waiver, please bring them on Monday, thank you.  If you cannot find me, feel free to give them to your captain who will give them to me.  Please do not make me chase you for the money you should have already paid.

After every game, there is always a good amount of people who wander over to The Merrill, 535 N Broadway, East Providence, RI (401) 434-9742.   Directions to The Merrell  The food and beer prices cannot be beat, $6 pitchers of Narragnsett, Bud, or Miller Lite and sandwiches with fries are $5.  The Merrell is under new ownership and the food is MUCH better.  No more grilled cheese, though I am sure you can request it.  Hope to see many of you there.

As far as the teams go, the captains and I did everything we could to make the teams as fair as possible.  We did our best to accomodate as many baggage requests as we could so please do not complain if you and your friend did not get on the same team, RIPUL is about meeting new people anyway.  In general, we accomodated all couples and anybody who recruited a beginner.
