Gold vs Forest 6/1

Tornado watches. Thunderstorms. Ultimate.  Not the best combination.  But the brave ultimate players ventured to Cole Street to play in the harsh wind and cool rain.  Both teams were short on numbers, as the women of both teams played savage, and each team had 1-2 subs.  Teams traded point for a while until Gold took a small lead off some down wind hucks and patient offense to take half 9-6.  After half, Gold continued its run and got up to 13-8 with some open in cuts by Lindsey Farya, who caught several clutch points, and make some great Ds.  But Forest did not quit.  They played great defense and had several points scored by Chad Seaman. As the cap came on, Gold ended up finishing strong and won 17-15.  Without expert poet Matt Stein to lead them in the cheer, Maarten Hoogeboom created one that left Forest dazed and confused, while Ray Richardson fired back with a solid cheer, as usual.
