Navy was looking to continue its perfect season in the game against Gold. Gold only had 2 subs of each gender, while Navy brought their strength in numbers (seriously; I think the entire team showed up for this one). Gold started out with patient offense to take a 2-0 lead. Navy then fired right back with a run of their own, going 6-0 off some dropped discs, throw aways, and nice defensive plays, taking the lead 6-2. Steve Panasuik had some great dump cuts and throws upfield to wide open Navy players, that allowed them to move the disc down the field. Gold called a TO to rest their already tired legs and evaluate their playing. Off the TO, Gold aka 'Butterfinger' got their act together and went on a 7-1 run to take half 9-7. Nick Jouett made several deep cuts for scores, and got a callahan that fired Gold up. After a long (~15 minute) point, the soft cap went on with Gold ahead 13-9, as other teams came to watch the exciting finish. After scoring a point each, Gold's Kyle Bowie lasers a throw up the sideline to Nathan Jepson for the score and the win, 15-10. Matt and Alex Stein (of Golf and Navy respectively) both come up with great cheers to end the long, exhausting game.
